Burping During a Business Luncheon….?????
In traditional middle Eastern societies, belching after a meal indicated your appreciation of good food. It was an expression of gratitude to one’s host. In the West, on the other hand, such belching may be seen as a little rude. Although such customs are clearly less common nowadays in international business dealings, that does not mean they never happen. Now you know what they mean if perchance they do occur.

Is Your Feng Shui Right?
The Chinese believe that energy around houses and businesses flows in a positive or negative way depending on how a building and its contents are organised. For example, few Chinese like to sleep on a bed with their feet facing the door – This allows positive energy to “slip out the door”.
What Is This Losing Face Thingy?
A central concept for most Asian societies is that of losing face. While Western society more readily accepts and deals with situations that cause one to lose face, Asians on the other hand cannot do this to the same extent. An Asian would rather do anything therefore than lose face. In fact most Asians will avoid situations that they think may result in them losing face.

Be Halal Not Haram
The concept of halal (meaning “allowed”) versus haram (meaning “forbidden”) is an important one for most Muslims. For strict adherents of that faith, this applies to all aspects of everyday life as well as to food. Therefore if you wish to attract such people to your business, you need to be aware of what they consider “halal” and what they consider “haram”.
